What is the role of empathy in a business pitch?

Empathy plays a crucial role in a business pitch. It allows the presenter to connect with the audience on a deeper, emotional level. By appealing to the general human condition, the presenter can make the audience empathize with their vision, making the pitch more compelling and relatable. This can be achieved by sharing a real story, especially one that stems from personal experience or hardships. Even if the origin story doesn't come from a profound personal experience, it's important to appeal to the audience's empathy to make a successful pitch.
