To improve key relationships in an organization, you can start by identifying where power resides in your organization and who has control over your professional future. This is not limited to your boss, but also includes those who have influence and those your boss listens to the most. Once you have identified these key individuals, your goal for the year should be to improve each key relationship. This could be visualized as changing the color of the relationship, for example, turning red relationships yellow, and yellow relationships green.
