The 8D Process, also known as Eight Disciplines, is a problem-solving methodology used for product and process improvement. It is structured into eight steps (or disciplines), and emphasizes team synergy. The disciplines are: Define the problem, Form a team, Describe the problem, Develop interim containment actions, Determine and verify root causes and escape points, Verify corrective actions, Implement permanent corrective actions, and Prevent recurrence. This process contributes to business innovation by identifying, correcting, and eliminating recurring problems, enhancing the quality of products, and improving customer satisfaction.
