The Cradle to Cradle (C2C) business strategy is a biomimetic approach to the design of products and systems. It models human industry on nature's processes, where materials are viewed as nutrients circulating in healthy, safe metabolisms. The strategy suggests that industry must protect and enrich ecosystems and nature's biological metabolism while also maintaining a safe, productive technical metabolism for the high-quality use and circulation of organic and technical nutrients. This means designing products for disassembly and reuse. The goal is to create systems that are not only efficient but also essentially waste free.

Generic Strategies refer to the basic strategies that a company can adopt to gain competitive advantage in its industry. These strategies were first proposed by Michael Porter in 1980 and include three main types: Cost Leadership, Differentiation, and Focus. Cost Leadership strategy involves becoming the lowest cost producer in the industry. Differentiation strategy involves making your products or services unique and attractive to consumers. Focus strategy involves targeting a specific, narrow part of the market. Each of these strategies requires a different set of activities to be successful.
