The 8D Process, while traditionally used in production, can be applied to other areas of business as well. It's a systematic problem-solving method that can be used in any area where there are issues to be resolved. For example, it can be used in customer service to address and resolve customer complaints, in HR to deal with employee issues, or in finance to solve budgeting problems. The key is to identify the problem, form a team, define and describe the problem, develop and implement a solution, and then check the effectiveness of the solution.
