The concept of a sales funnel can be applied to any industry that involves customer acquisition and conversion. It's a strategy used to guide potential customers through their buying journey, from the first point of contact or awareness, through interest, decision, and finally, action or purchase. For instance, in the education sector, a sales funnel could start with a free webinar or ebook, followed by a low-cost course, then a higher-priced course, and finally, a high-ticket personal coaching session. In the healthcare industry, a funnel might start with a free health check-up, followed by a low-cost treatment plan, then a more comprehensive, higher-priced plan, and finally, a long-term health maintenance plan. The key is to provide value at each stage of the funnel, building trust and relationship with the customer, leading them to the final purchase.

Question was asked on:

Gusten Sun, founder and CEO of Freedom Funnels, explained the sales funnel to Entrepreneur saying: "To give you a practical example... let's say you're a movie buff, but you want to stop spending so much money at the theaters. You do a quick Google search and find an online movie streaming service that offers a free 30-day trial. You sign up, watch movies for free for a month and afterward they ask you if you want to continue watching unlimited movies from the comfort of your home. You say yes and pay. That's an example of a successful funnel, and that's the concept of providing value first in order to build relationships and turn browsers into customers…Oh, and you may have guessed: That's the sales funnel of Netflix."
