The MECE Principle, while useful, has its limitations. It assumes that all problems can be neatly categorized into mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive categories, which is not always the case. Some problems may overlap, or may not fit neatly into any category. Additionally, the MECE principle can lead to oversimplification of complex issues, as it encourages breaking down problems into smaller, separate parts. This can sometimes overlook the interconnectedness of different aspects of a problem.
