The Stage-Gate Model is a project management technique in which a project is divided into stages separated by gates. At each gate, the continuation of the process is decided by (typically) a manager or a steering committee. The aim is to improve the speed and quality of execution of new projects. It can be applied in business by using it to guide the development of new products or services, from idea generation to commercialization. It helps in making go/no-go decisions at each stage, thus minimizing risk and maximizing efficiency.
