Boston consulting group found that in 2019, the F-series made $42 billion in revenue and that if Ford spun this company off on its own, it would be one of the largest in the country by sheer revenue. However, despite having thousands of otherwise totally complete trucks at its factories ready to be sold, the current microchip shortage led to Ford to only be able to sell 158,235 F-series trucks during Q2.
