There are several ways to visualize changes over time apart from vertical bar charts. Some of these include line graphs, area charts, scatter plots, and candlestick charts. Line graphs are simple and effective for showing changes over time. Area charts are similar to line graphs but with the area under the line filled in, which can help visualize the magnitude of changes.
