Some popular designs for organizational charts include hierarchical, matrix, and flat. Hierarchical charts are the most common and show the top-down structure of an organization, with each level subordinate to the one above. Matrix charts show employees reporting to more than one manager, reflecting a more complex reporting structure. Flat charts, on the other hand, show few or no levels of middle management between staff and executives, reflecting a more collaborative and less hierarchical organization.
